Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery stolen from fair in Guildford
Police are appealing for information
Surrey Police are investigating after hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen from a stall at an antiques fair in Guildford. It happened at the event at Loseley Park on the 20th November.
The victim had set up his stall in a marquee, where he was selling second-hand jewellery. When it came to packing away, the victim planned to make several trips to his car as the jewellery was heavy. The victim stored some of the jewellery in plastic bags behind his stall table and walked the short distance to the car with the first lot of jewellery. When he returned, the remaining jewellery was gone.
Witnesses report seeing a short man with dark hair place the plastic bags into a rucksack and leave the marquee.
PC Marshall, who is investigating the case, says. “We’re determined to do everything we can to find this thief who brazenly stole a significant amount of jewellery from a very public place. A large number of items were taken and if you are unsure about anything you’ve seen for sale, please get in touch."
