Police are appealing for help to identify a man following a robbery at a Surrey Post Office.

Officers were called to the robbery, on Molesey Road in Hersham, at lunchtime on Monday afternoon.

A member of staff was threatened with what was believed to be a gun before the raider fled the scene with £500 in cash.

Detective Chief Inspector Debbie White, said: “We know that this will have been a worrying incident for the local community and we are working hard to establish the circumstances of the incident and find the person responsible. Residents may notice a continued police presence in the area whilst officers carry out enquiries.

“I would urge anyone who may have information about the incident to please contact us straightaway.”

Officers believe the man seen in the CCTV image may be able to help with their investigation.
