Hospice plant sale to raise funds
Last year more than £3000 was raised
A local hospice care charity's holding its first plant sale of the year in Farnham this weekend.
The first Phyllis Tuckwell plant sale of 2022 will be held on Sunday 3rd April, from 10am-1pm, at the Hospice in Farnham.
They will then take place on the first Sunday of every month, through to October.
All of the money raised will go directly to help fund the supportive and end of life care which Phyllis Tuckwell provides for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. Phyllis Tuckwell’s volunteers will also be on hand at the sales and can offer general advice.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our green-fingered supporters to our monthly plant sales once again,” said Ruth Masters, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “We’ll have hundreds of plants for sale at bargain prices. Whether you want to update your flower beds, add colour and interest to your garden, or get the most out of your patio or allotment, there’s sure to be something for you.”
Last year, Phyllis Tuckwell’s plant sales raised over £3,000, enough to pay for over a month’s care from one of its Hospice Care at Home Nurses. These Nurses care for patients who have chosen to spend their last days at home and provide important emotional support for their families too.
As the NHS/Government usually only covers about 20% of Phyllis Tuckwell’s costs, it has to raise over £25,000 a day to be able to offer all of its services, which are given free of charge to its patients and their families.
Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is situated on the corner of Waverley Lane and Menin Way, Farnham, GU9 8BL, and is fully wheelchair accessible. For more information on the plant sales, email fundraising@pth.org.uk or visit www.pth.org.uk.
If you have any plants which you would like to donate to be sold in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell, please email support@pth.org.uk and a member of the team will get in touch with you.
