Guildford's MP has called for firm action after more demonstrators blocked the M25 this morning (21 September).

Surrey Police say 38 people have been arrested following the incident close to Junction 10 at Wisley at around 8am, with the route having now reopened.

It is the firth time Insulate Britain have been on the motorway in nine days as they call for Government action on home insulation.

But Guildford MP Angela Richardson says the protests are reckless and putting lives at risk.

In a tweet she said: "I'm sure many will agree that the right to protest is fundamental to our democracy, but these protests by Insulate are reckless and endangering to the lives of protestors and others they are holding up who may be in an emergency situation.

"Please tackle this firmly."

Spokesperson Liam Norton said: “The people of Britain understand that climate change is a severe threat to everything they hold dear.

"They are looking to the government for leadership. We have a practical solution and have received encouragement for our aims from many construction industry professionals. ”
