After years of antisocial behaviour at a property in Godalming police have secured a full closure order.

Incidents at the address of Eashing Lane included threats, verbal abuse, violence and dangerous use of catapults.

Anonymous impact statements from victims say it caused fear, anxiety and disruption to their daily lives.

The full Closure Order was granted on Tuesday (20 April) under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 by Staines Magistrates’ Court.

The order means that no-one can enter 62 Eashing Lane until 19th July 2021.

Borough Commander, Inspector Sam Adcock from Waverley’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

“Today’s result sends a strong message to our neighbourhoods that Surrey Police is committed to tackling behaviour that is harmful and damaging to communities and serves as a warning to the perpetrators of anti-social behaviour that we will use all available legislation to pursue them, and to ensure that they are held to account.

“Anti-social behaviour has a massive impact on communities and will not be tolerated in Waverley. The local policing team, along with our partner agencies, will continue to work together to ensure that action is taken where necessary.”
