A free networking event offering advice and guidance to businesses in Guildford and Waverley is to be held at the University of Surrey.

Business Question Time returns on the 3rd of June, having last been held in 2022.

The keynote speaker will be Chief Economic Adviser Vicky Pryce, who will outline the economic forecast for local businesses.

The event will also provide further support and insight from a range of experts, including Professor Amelia Hadfield, Rupert Thompson, Managing Director of Hogs Back Brewery and Steve Cuss, Founder of The Gameplan Consultancy.

With increasing energy prices, recruitment issues and the on-going cost-of-living crisis, times are tough for business owners.

Business Question Time hopes that bringing people together will help them share expertise and solve challenges.

The event is targeted at businesses in Guildford and Waverley, with the intention of helping them make connections and gain free expert advice in these challenging times.

People interested in attending are advised to reserve their free places and are invited to send in any questions for the experts in advance.

Suggested topics include becoming net-zero, business growth, digital, funding, and upskilling your workforce.

Business Question Time is organised by Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils.

There will be networking opportunities, talks and all attendees will receive an information pack designed to help businesses tackle the current challenges.

Professor Amelia Hadfield, Associate Vice President for External Engagement in the Department of Politics at the University of Surrey, will host the event.

She says it’s a pleasure to be involved in the initiative:

“This event brings together a host of cutting edge, highly impactful business leaders who work hard to make Guildford and Waverley a thriving business community, giving them the opportunity to share insights and build strategic opportunities.“

Dawn Hudd, is the councils’ Joint Strategic Director.

She says the event is particularly crucial in the current economic climate:

“We are, once again, bringing together those who have considerable business experience with those who might need guidance and advice and we hope many local businesses will attend.”
