Car and three bins set on fire in Surrey village
Surrey Police say they're investigating four reports of arson in Bookham
Investigations are underway after four reports of arson in Bookham over the weekend.
Surrey Police say three bins and a car were set on fire but no-one was injured.
It's understood the fires were set around Sole Farm Avenue, Post House Lane, East Street, and Leatherhead Road between 11pm and midnight on Saturday.
Borough Commander Inspector James Green said: “Our officers have been hard at work in Bookham over the past few days, conducting house to house enquiries, gathering CCTV footage and obtaining witness statements that will help us identify the persons responsible for these fires.
“I am aware of the concern these reports will cause and would like to reassure the community that we are taking this matter very seriously and will take robust action against those found responsible. If you have any information, no matter how small, I urge you to get in touch with us.”
Surrey Police would like to speak with anyone with information that can support their investigation to help identify those responsible. They are particularly keen to speak with a group of three teenagers aged between 16 and 17 who were seen nearby.
