Several local police forces in Surrey have reported incidents of antisocial behaviour over Halloween.

Runnymede beat said in a post on Facebook yesterday (31 October) fireworks had been thrown at shops and eggs thrown at cars.

Officers also said children were cycling against traffic on dual carriageways.

They also confiscated plastic toy machetes from a group of youths running around Egham at midnight:

"They claimed they were part of their Halloween costume, but Adidas tracksuit trousers, McKenzie tops and North Face jackets don't really count, in our opinion.

"These could really scare a passing member of the public. "

Police in the Tandridge area of Surrey also reported incidents of antisocial behaviour:

"We are receiving a number of calls from the east of the county regarding anti-social behaviour, including reports of fireworks being lit in the street and aimed at members of the public.

"This is unacceptable and our officers, who are already extremely busy this evening, will be in the area and dealing accordingly."
