8 fire engines and 50 firefighters have attended a blaze in a village near Godalming.
The firefighters from the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service were called to the house at 11:51 am on Pickhurst Road in Chiddingfold.
Cordons were in place further down the road, and the service advised people to 'avoid the area' and said 'those nearby should close windows and doors'.
"Nobody's been injured in this incident thankfully"
Group Commander Harper, who is the incident commander, said "We got called to a fire just before midday today... when we arrived there was a well-developed fire.
"It's a big property, it's a fairly well-established large fire in the upper area of the building."
"At this point now, we've pretty much knocked the fire off and now what we're doing is damping down and turning over. So we're looking for those small pockets of fire...just to make sure it's properly out.
"Nobody's been injured in this incident thankfully."
