Fire breaks out at HG Wells Centre in Woking

Firefighters were called to a blaze at the HG Wells Centre in Woking yesterday (18 October).

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service sent eight fire engines to the scene in Church Street East, as well as the Aerial Ladder Platform and a support pump, soon after they received reports of smoke billowing from a room in the building at 2:20pm.

A spokesperson for SFRS said the blaze caused around 11-20 square metres of damage.

There were no reports of casualties.

The fire was out by 4:15pm.
