A Farnham man who ended up crashing his motobike causing himself serious injury has been jailed for ten months.

22 year old Asher Nelson, of The Chantry's, was clocked by police riding at speeds of over 114 mph beforehand in November last year.

A police patrol had spotted the already disqualified driver racing between Farnborough and the outskirts of Farnham.

Nelson then collided with a barrier at the Sheperd and Flock roundabout.

Detective Constable Rick Edwards, who investigated the case, said:

“Not only did Nelson drive at excessively high speed, putting the lives of other road users at risk, he also did so knowing that he had no licence, tax or insurance.”

“Unfortunately, he has also been left with a life-changing leg injury as a result of his reckless behaviour and will face the next few months in prison.”

“I hope that this case highlights how determined we are to ensure reckless and irresponsible road users are brought to justice and held accountable for their actions in order to keep the county’s roads safe for others.”
