Farnborough Symphony Orchestra celebrate their 100th birthday with special concert

A special concert will be taking place in Aldershot in November to mark 100 years of the Farnborough Symphony Orchestra.
The Orchestral Society of the Royal Aircraft Establishment, as it was called when founded, gave its first concert on the 13th December 1922.
For their birthday celebrations the concert will be performing their classical and contemporary music for people across Surrey and Hampshire at Princes Hall in Aldershot on the 12th November 2022, at 7:45pm.
One of the works performed back in 1922, Schubert's Rosamunde Overture will open the concert on the 12th, almost exactly a century on from their first performance.
Flautist Christian Paquette, will be joining the orchestra to perform Reinecke’s lyrical flute concerto, and the evening will be closed with Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8, to bring their birthday celebrations to an end.
The Farnborough Symphony Orchestra's Artistic Director William Carslake will be taking the baton during the evening, which hopes to encourage and inspire the next generation of composers and players.
The Farnborough Symphony Orchestra serves the local community in North East Hampshire and West Surrey and is supported by Paris Smith, Dar Plus and Making Music.
