Man arrested after cannabis factory found in Farnborough
Police located approximately 200 cannabis plants in various stages of growth
A 44-year-old man has been arrested after police discovered a large cannabis factory in Farnborough.
Officers were called at 10:29pm yesterday (14 August) following reports of suspicious behaviour at a residential property on Farnborough Road.
On attending the address, they located approximately 200 cannabis plants in various stages of growth.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, a Class B controlled drug, and remains in custody as enquiries continue.
Police warned that large-scale cannabis operations are often linked to organised crime and carry serious risks, including the potential for violence and significant fire hazards due to high electrical demands. Neighbouring properties and lives can be put in danger.
A spokesperson said: "We know some people may think it’s just a bit of cannabis, but any production of drugs is linked to hidden harm.
"We encourage people to continue reporting suspicious behaviour and suspected drug dealing, as this information helps us tackle crime and remove drugs from the streets."
