Explore Guildford Launch their Platinum Jubilee Window Trail
Experience Guildford have launched their Platinum Jubilee Window Trail for all the family to take a stroll through the town.
Families, parents children and adults alike are all encouraged to take part in the trail this Spring in the lead up to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Experience Guildford Business Support Officer Sam Comerford has completed the trail herself since it has been set up.
She told us why it is a great opportunity to go into the town over the Easter holidays:
"I think the best thing about the trail is the fact that you can discover secret hidden parts of Guildford that you didn't know before, and I think it's lovely because you've got to spend the time looking around all of a sudden you're sort of noticing things that you haven't noticed before."
Celebrations and decorations will soon begin popping up throughout the town as we get closer to the Jubilee celebrations and the trail marks the start for Guildford.
There are eight window stickers located around town, which means there are eight letters to track down and then unscramble at the end to make a Jubilee themed word.
Experience Guildford have a variety of prizes on offer for those who complete the trail map, which needs to then be posted in the post box at Tunsgate Quarter.
Sam says the trail is a great way to enjoy Guildford:
"It's really sort of mindful thing to do as well. I think it's a lovely and a way to slow down and and we're deliberately doing this in a way that it's it's a bit old fashioned.
"You pick up your trail map and there's no there's no mobile phone. There's no Pokémon, no catching Pokémon as you walking around town staring at your mobile phone not really looking at the environment you're in.
"You're taking your time to really enjoy the beautiful place that we live in."
The trail takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes at a steady pace. If you've eaten a few too many Easter eggs it is a great way to start to burn them off!
The trail is running until June 6th and trail maps can be found within many places across the town including the Tourist Information Office, Library, G Live and shops around the town.
