Epsom Downs to be used as mass vaccination centre
It is one of seven across the country
Surrey is one of seven places in the country where mass Covid-19 vaccination centres are opening.
It has been announced that Epsom Downs racecourse will be used as a venue for the programme.
The Prime Minister's official spokesman told a Westminster briefing that it is expected the centres will be run with a combination of NHS staff and volunteers.
In a tweet Epsom Downs said: "Our racecourse has been named as one of just seven super vaccination centres in the country tonight.
"We are proud to play our part in this national effort."
The other venues are the ExCel Centre in London, Robertson House in Stevenage, the Centre for Life in Newcastle, the Etihad Tennis Centre in Manchester, Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol and Millennium Point in Birmingham.
