E-fit released after man armed with knife involved in attempted robbery

An investigation is underway after an attempted robbery in Aldershot involving a man armed with a Stanley knife.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was approached by a man in an alleyway near Croft Road at around 7am on Wednesday 29 January.

The man had a Stanley-like blade and demanded money from the victim. A tussle ensued and the victim suffered lacerations above his hip.

He was taken to hospital to receive treatment for non-serious superficial wounds. Nothing was stolen during the incident.

Hampshire Police have released an E-fit of a man they would like to speak to. He is described as being white, aged in his 40s with dark hair and stubble. He was wearing a black coat, dark cargo trousers and walking boots.

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to come forward.
