Earl of Wessex thanks Surrey Resilience Forum for their work during the pandemic

The Surrey Local Resilience Forum (SLRF)has been praised and thanked by a member of the Royal Family.

The Earl of Wessex joined the SLRF's virtual meeting yesterday (3 February) to hear how the local agencies are working together to keep the county safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prince Edward thanked those involved in doorstep Covid-19 testing in Woking this week.

More than 5,000 test kits have been given out in the borough after two cases of the South African coronavirus variant were found.

In a video posted on the Royal Family's officer Twitter account the Earl of Wessex said:

"It's been great listening to how you've SLRF been responding to that so very constructively.

"I'm really impressed by the way you continued to work, your commitment, your effort and your determination.

"It's really impressive in an ongoing situation.

"And just to express our thanks and appreciation for all that you're doing and please keep up the fantastic work. It's really appreciated."

The Surrey Local Resilience Forum is made up of local partners including Surrey County Council, Surrey Police, District & Borough Councils, Surrey Fire & Rescue Service, Public Health England, local health services, volunteer organisations and others.
