A drug dealer will spend seven years behind bars after being sentenced for drug offences, including possession with intent to supply heroin and possession of cannabis, at Guildford Crown Court last Thursday (18 November).

Curtis Brown, 29, of Kidderminster Road, Croydon, was first arrested in the early hours of 15 January in 2018 on the A3 near Haslemere, after being stopped for speeding.

Surrey Police said Brown then attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by officers and on completion of a search he was found with over 30 grams of suspicious powder.

The powder was tested and found to be heroin. He was also found in possession of cannabis, a large amount of cash and several phones.

Investigating Officer, PC Rory Brooks-Kent, said: “Brown’s arrest and conviction is another example of the proactive work Surrey Police are doing every day to target drug related crime in the county.

“Following his arrest, Brown failed to turn up to court and was deemed a wanted man. After lots of hard work to locate him and bring him to justice, he will now answer for his crimes.

“I hope this result shows that if you are travelling to Surrey to deal drugs, we will work tirelessly to find you and we will bring you to justice.”
