Two cars have been involved in a collision on the A3 as Surrey is lashed with rain.

Police were called to the southbound side at Burpham this morning (21 October).

Lane one of the route is currently shut at Burpham while the vehicles, which both appear to have left the road, are recovered.

Both Surrey and Hampshire are currently covered by a Met Office alert for heavy rain until 2pm.

The yellow warning tells us to expect longer journey times and disruption to travel.

Officers attending to the collision on the A3 have warned that there is "a lot of standing water on the roads" and have urged motorists to "drive to the conditions".
