Train passengers across Surrey and East Hampshire warned they won't be able to buy tickets at stations for the time being..

It's because of a global cyber outage is affecting businesses across the country - including airlines, banks, and even the London Stock Exchange.

Organisations across the world have been impacted by the outage which seems to be linked to Microsoft Windows and cybersecurity firm Cloudstrike.

South Western Railways issued an alert on their media channels.

The message stated: "Due to IT issues across the South Western Railway network all ticket vending machines are currently non operational.

Please purchase your ticket online, on the train or speak to a member of station staff.

We apologise for the inconvenience this causes."

There is also disruption on services run by Govia Thameslink: Southern, Thameslink, Gatwick Express and Great Northern.

The train company says they are unable to access driver diagrams at certain locations, leading to potential short-notice cancellations, particularly on the Thameslink and Great Northern networks.
