Could your office go pet friendly?
It's after a rise in ownership during the pandemic
Office managers in Surrey are being encouraged to make their workplaces more pet friendly, following a dramatic increase in ownership during the pandemic.
A survey's found having pets in the workplace would boost morale with 30% saying they think people would work better with a cat or a dog in the office to keep them company.
8 out of 10 workers say they can't take their pet to work with them - but the majority said they would if they could.
Top five ways in which Brits would like their office to be more pet friendly:
- Designated areas for pets such as a cattery or kennels (33%)
- Pet insurance (25%)
- Pawternity (paid leave after getting a pet) (23%)
- Treats and calming spray available throughout (23%)
- Ensure pet-friendly plants and flowers (22%)
Working with pets at home during lockdown provided several benefits which those questioned said would be equally welcomed into their office working space.
The main advantages were that having a dog or cat helped with mental health and gave people a reason to take a break and go for a walk.
