Churt Common wildfire caused by out-of-control campfire
It set light to just under one hectare of land.
A wildfire on Churt Common was caused by an out-of-control campfire, Surrey Fire & Rescue Service say.
Firefighters were called to the common, south of Farnham, Surrey, yesterday morning (19 August).
There were two fire engines and nine wildfire vehicles on site to tackle the blaze.
It affected just under one hectare of land, but was brought under control quickly- stopping it from spreading further.
Surrey Fire & Rescue Service then left the scene at around 1:30pm the same day.
