A free Christmas tree recycling scheme is being brought back this year in Surrey Heath.

Residents can drop their tree off at one of 15 recycling points within Surrey Heath from 4th to 16th of January next year.

Last year, more than 1,300 Christmas trees were collected for recycling.

Most were fed through a woodchipper by the council, with the chippings later being used in local parks and green spaces.

Only real Christmas trees will be accepted by the council.

Residents are asked to remove all decorations and lights prior to dropping off.
