A child has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision involving a car outside Ravenscote Junior School in Camberley.

Emergency services are still at the scene in Old Bisley Road, which remains shut in both directions following the incident shortly before 8.30am today (9 June).

Surrey Police are asking people to “respect the cordons in place” while investigation work is carried out.

Sergeant Chris Schultze said: "This collision took place outside Ravenscote Junior School at a busy time of the day with plenty of witnesses.

“If you witnessed anything or have any dashcam footage which could assist, please contact us."

Anyone with information can call officers on 101, quoting PR/45210059959.

Since 2018 parents concerned for the safety of children crossing roads around the school have been campaigning for a pelican crossing.

In response traffic calming measures were added, but not a pelican crossing.
