Actress Celia Imrie sends special message to Royal Surrey for International Nurses Day
The actress was born and raised in Guildford
Actress Celia Imrie has sent a special video message to the Royal Surrey hospital in Guildford for International Nurses Day.
68-year-old Imrie is known for her television work with late comedian Victoria Wood and for her roles in many films including the Bridget Jones series and Calendar Girls.
She was born and raised in Guildford and her father Dr. David Imrie was a radiologist at the Royal Surrey.
In the video, Imrie wishes 'all the lovely nurses a very happy International Nurses Day' describing them all as 'angels'.
The actress recalls her childhood in Guildford and how her father would take her and her siblings to sing carols on the hospital's wards on Christmas Day before they opened their presents:
"I wish I could sing to you today, but I do by singing your praises for all your wonderful selfless dedication, your kindness, and your hard hard work.
"I thank you all from my heart."
