It is being conducted on social media

We are being warned of a scam survey on social media asking us how we have coped with the Covid-19 pandemic - and requesting personal information.

The alert is being shared by Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards, who say it is alleged that the survey has been authorised by a local authority - making it appear authentic.

Trading Standards say in a case they know of, a participant was a duped into taking part on Twitter and provided personal details such as name, address and National Insurance number.

The person involved was offered £25 for taking part - but turned down the payment.

Trading Standards warn it is likely the fraudsters would have got personal bank details had the person involved agreed.
