Body found in Alice Holt Forest in search for missing diplomat
Richard Morris disappeared almost 17 weeks ago.
A body has been found in the search for a missing diplomat who disappeared after going for a run in Hampshire.
It was discovered in Alice Holt Forest yesterday (31 August) by officers who had been investigating the disappearance of Richard Morris.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the 52-year-old’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Hampshire Constabulary said the death was not being treated as suspicious and that a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Mr Morris disappeared almost 17 weeks ago when he left his house in Bentley to go for a run on 6 May.
He was ambassador to Nepal from November 2015 to November 2019 and had been set to become the British High Commissioner to Fiji in July, having been appointed to the role last October.
