Ash murder investigation: Woman died of head injury

Police say a woman whose death sparked a murder investigation died of a head injury.

The woman her 50s was found dead a property in Church View in Ash near Guildford at around 5.50pm on Thursday, 11 May.

The investigation, led by Surrey and Sussex’s Major Crime Team, to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death remains ongoing.

The woman is yet to be formally identified but police say they are working closely with the coroner.

A 61-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

A 64-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without charge with no further action.

Police say a number of police cordons remain in place while officers continue to investigate, and there will remain a police presence in the area for reassurance.
