Witness appeal after armed bank robbery in Walton
Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at a bank in Surrey on Monday night (29 May).
A group of around six people forced entry into the Nationwide bank on Church Street in Walton-on-Thames at around 11:30pm.
They threatened a member of security staff with weapons before stealing £2500 in cash.
The group fled the scene in a black/dark grey Audi RS6, which is believed to have been stolen and was later found abandoned in Chertsey.
The group were described as wearing all black clothing and balaclavas.
Detective Constable Marita Wells is investigating the case:
“This was an incredibly serious incident which will no doubt have left the local community concerned.
“We are working at pace to identify and apprehend the suspects and local residents will notice a continued police presence in the area whilst we carry out our enquiries.
