Aldershot Urgent Care Centre to close
The centre has been running for the last year as part of a pilot scheme
An urgent care centre based in Aldershot is closing next week.
Based at the Aldershot Centre for Health, the service has been running as a pilot scheme for the last year, offering people living in North East Hampshire, Farnham and Surrey Heath same day treatment for minor illnesses.
It also provided a walk in clinic for those aged 12 and under.
The last day of operation will be Tuesday the 26th of November.
In a statement, Frimley Health and Care which ran the centre, said there are other options people can use to get the right medical treatment:
"From Wednesday, 27 November, if you have a health concern and need to be seen urgently, contact your GP practice and let them know what the problem is. You can also contact NHS111.
"Your local pharmacy can support and advise you with a range of common health conditions. GP practices, NHS111 and pharmacy are open to people of all ages.
"Children and young people, or their parents or carers, can also visit Frimley Healthier Together, an online resource with information and advice specifically designed for younger people. The information has been developed by doctors, working with parents, and uses a ‘traffic light’ system to advise you on what the best course of action is.
"Your local GP practices are working hard to deliver even more appointments to support you over the coming months. Many hundreds of additional same-day appointments are being provided every week across North East Hampshire, Surrey Heath and Farnham.
"If we all Make The Right Choice of health services we can support the NHS to be more effective and that will help us all to get the treatment we need more quickly."
