Aldershot Post Office has re-opened to restore Post Office services to the town centre.

The WHSmith store where Aldershot Post Office was based, closed in June, but has now returned at the same premises in the Wellington Centre.

Postmaster Hardik Sorathiya, who is already the Postmaster for Alexandra Road, Farnborough has taken over the running of the site – with the previous Aldershot Post Office staff continuing to work there.

Mr Sorathiya, said: “People are very excited and relieved that Aldershot Post Office is re-opening.

“They feared what would happen with the WHSmith store closing. I worked closely with the landlord and Rushmoor Borough Council to retain the Post Office and part of the store for retail to meet the needs of the community. This branch will continue to offer the full range of Post Office services as before.”

Jason Collins, Post Office Network Provision Manager, added: “We are delighted to have been able to restore Post Office services to Aldershot Town Centre as we know how important a Post Office is to a community."

The new opening hours for Aldershot Post Office are Monday to Friday: 9am – 5.30pm; Saturday: 9am – 2pm.
