A person has had to be airlifted to hospital from Thorpe Park after falling ill.

The incident happened at the theme park in Chertsey yesterday (1 September).

Staff provided care until paramedics arrived and the individual was taken for further treatment.

The park has thanked visitors for their patience while they dealt with the emergency.

In a statement last night Thorpe Park said: "The Resort’s fully trained First Aid team treated the guest at the scene and administered immediate care until ambulance teams arrived.

"An air ambulance was subsequently called and has now left with the guest for further treatment in hospital.

"We’d like to thank other guests for their patience and cooperation today which allowed the medical teams to do their jobs."
