A 10-mile stretch of the A24 in Surrey has reopened following the completion of repairs after a fuel spill.

The stretch of the road between Dorking and Leatherhead has been closed since 9 July after major damage was caused when 16,000 litres of diesel was spilled.

Surrey County Council say they have successfully rebuilt the road, and that it reopened to traffic on Friday evening.

Some resurfacing work is continuing over the weekend, including at the Grove Roundabout, as well as work to clean gullies.

The Council hope to have all works completed by 22 July.
