Demonstrators from Insulate Britain have been arrested after attempting to block motorways in Surrey.

It is the third time the group have staged protests in the county this week, after two on the M25 on Monday and Wednesday.

Surrey Police have said that 24 people have been arrested after they targeted both the M25 and M3 this morning.

Both are now clear.

In a statement the force added: "We were made aware of protesters at junction 9 of the M25 earlier this morning.

"14 people have been arrested and the carriageway is clear.

"We were also made aware shortly after 9am of protesters at junction 1 of the M3. 10 people have been arrested and are no longer on the carriageway."
