17 year old killed in Surrey crash and three others injured

Police in Surrey are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash that's claimed the life of a teenager.

It happened on Prune Hill in Egham on 10:50pm on Tuesday night (17 May).

Officers say the vehicle a red Seat Ibiza left the road near the railway crossing.

A 17 year old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other teenagers, all aged 17 who were in the car were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Sergeant Ben Grillis of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said:

"We are aware that a student has been named locally.

"We are working with the family in relation to formal identification and we ask that people avoid speculation and respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time.

"We will release more information when we can."
