Woodbridge motorcyclist named as victim of fatal crash

Family thanks members of the public who stopped to help

Police have named a motorcyclist who died in a single-vehicle collision in Suffolk at the weekend.

Emergency services, including police, ambulance crews and air ambulance, were called to the B1078 in the Campsea Ashe area in Woodbridge at around 11.00 on Saturday.

A male motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

In a statement issued by Suffolk Constabulary, the force said:

"Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has been identified as Chris Ward from the Woodbridge area.

"The family of Mr Ward would like to thank all the members of public who stopped at the scene to help and all the emergency services that attended.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference 122 of 1 July 2023."
