Woman who stole purse from elderly victim in Ipswich ordered to pay compensation

A woman has been ordered to pay compensation following the theft of a purse in Ipswich.

Terri Ann Spilling, of Kingfisher Avenue, stole the item when it was left on the Boots pharmacy counter in Tavern Street at around 11.30am on 3 September 2020.

According to police, an amount of cash was stolen from the purse belonging to a woman in her 70s.

Spilling was interviewed and summonsed to court following an investigation by officers from the Operation Shere team and charged with theft.

She was ordered to pay £370 in compensation.
