A woman's died following crash in Leiston

Police have confirmed the driver of a car died at the scene.

A woman in her 60's has died after the car she was driving collided with a tree in Leiston.

Police were called by the ambulance service at just before 7.45am on Sunday 11th April, to reports of a single-vehicle collision on Lovers Lane.

Fire crews and an air ambulance also attended the scene.

A black Volkswagen Polo collided with a tree - the woman was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw what happened, including anyone driving in Lovers Lane before the crash and has a dashcam fitted to their car.

Anyone with information should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: CAD 51 of 11 April.
