Military charity issues urgent appeal for Suffolk volunteers
Blind Veterans UK have issued an urgent appeal for volunteer drivers and home visitors in Suffolk

Blind Veterans UK has issued an urgent appeal for volunteer drivers and home visitors to support blind veterans in Felixstowe, Ipswich, and Bury St Edmunds.
The charity works with veterans who've lost their eyesight to tackle social isolation and help them get out and about.
It supports thousands of former forces members across the UK.
It also helps veterans get to remembrance and commemoration events with their former colleagues.
Laura Savage, Volunteer Coordinator for Blind Veterans UK in Suffolk, said: 'We have blind veterans who are in desperate need of a volunteer to help them pick up medicine, get to doctor’s appointments, and join friends for social events."
"Things that you and I take for granted but become a real challenge when you’ve lost your sight.
“And there are other veterans who are experiencing loneliness and isolation who could really do with some company along with a friendly face.
This could be popping in for a cup of tea and chat, sharing a common interest or hobby, or even taking a veteran out for a coffee or lunch in their local area.
“No matter how much time you have to give, it’ll have a huge impact on the lives of our blind veterans.
"Even just a few hours a month could change someone’s life for the better. We provide thorough training on guiding those with a vision-impairment, and all out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed.”
