US airforce to carry out night training from RAF Lakenheath next week

The US airforce is to carry out night training exercises from RAF Lakenheath over the next week or so

Jets will mostly be training over the North Sea - but the USAF is warning there may be some extra noise late in the evening -from tonight.

These exercises provide aircrews with the experience needed to make sure they remain combat-ready.

There are currently no plans for low-altitude flying in Suffolk or East Anglia, more generally.
