Suffolk County Council has announced a one off £2,000 grant to help Ukrainian refugees move into their own accomodation.

The payments will be available to anyone from Ukraine who has moved to Suffolk as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022.

The cash can be used to fund a move into private rented accomodation, helping to pay for moving costs, furniture or travel to work.

Accomodation can either be in Suffolk or out of the county, as long as a copy of the tenancy agreement is provided to the council.

Councillor Bobby Bennett, Cabinet Member for Equality and Communities, said: “We are grateful to all the hosts who have welcomed Ukrainian guests into our county and supported them to thrive in our local communities.

"This support will assist our Ukrainian guests to move on from their hosts and live independently in Suffolk.”
