Two teenagers have been charged after a man sustained serious injuries during an attack in north-west Ipswich.

Suffolk Police were called at just before 1.50am Wednesday (3 September) morning to reports of an incident in Whitehouse Park.

An altercation is reported to have taken place between a group of three teenage males and a group of four adults, resulting in one of the four adults – a man aged in his 30s – being stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Three male suspects were arrested in the Whitehouse area within an hour of police being called.

Two, aged 17 and 19, have been charged with the offences of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; and possession of a knife in a public place.

Both males were remanded in custody and are due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 4 September.

The third person arrested – another 19-year-old man – was released on bail until Friday 28 November, pending further enquiries.
