One person remains in hospital almost a month after a collision involving four vehicles on the A14 at Stowmarket.

It has now emerged that two people suffered serious injuries in the eastbound crash, just prior to the onslip from the A1120, at approximately 9.50am on Friday 9 June.

The collision involved a black Mercedes Vito, a red Land Rover Freelander, a red Ford Fiesta and a white Renault lorry.

Suffolk Constabulary have issued a statement to say initially they had believed only minor injuries had been sustained by a number of occupants of the vehicles.

However, they say it has now transpired that the driver and passenger in the Land Rover – a man and a woman aged in their late 60s and early 70s respectively – sustained serious injuries, with the passenger currently remaining in hospital receiving ongoing treatment.

Officers have launched an appeal for witnesses to the collision.

They are also asking anyone driving in the area immediately prior to the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
