A man and woman found dead at a house in Woodbridge have been named by police.

Officers were called shortly after 6.15pm on Saturday 10th April to reports two adults had been found dead at a house on Cumberland Street.

They've been identified as 68 year-old Sally Metcalf and Jonathan Metcalf, who's 72, both from Cumberland Street, pending formal inquest proceedings.

Following a Home Office post-mortem carried out at the weekend, police are treating Mrs Metcalf's death as murder.

Mr Metcalf's death is not being treated as suspicious.

Specialist trained officers are currently supporting both sides of the family through this extremely difficult time.

Officers have been in the area carrying out further enquiries, but they do not believe anyone else was involved in this incident.

A police scene remains in place at the property, but officers say there is no wider threat to the community.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact Suffolk Police either online or via 101 quoting reference 17853/21.
