Former Ipswich Town striker Trevor Whymark dies, aged 74

He made over 250 appearances during the 70s.

Former Ipswich Town striker Trevor Whymark has died at the age of 74.

He made 261 appearances for the Blues in the 70s, scoring 75 goals.

The single England International appearance holder was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last year.

Born in Burston, Norfolk, he was a mainstay in the Ipswich Town side from 1970-79, before joining Derby County, and then Vancouver Whitecaps.

In a post on X, Ipswich Town said: "The Club is saddened to report the passing of Town legend Trevor Whymark at the age of 74.

Trevor, who scored 104 goals in 335 appearances for the Club, died peacefully surrounded by his family.

Rest in peace, Trevor. 💙"
