Over 20 appliances have been called to assist throughout the day

Fire crews remain at the scene of a thatched roof fire in Suffolk.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and their colleagues in Norfolk have been dealing with the incident in Thwaite since this morning (26 April).

They were called at 7.38am to the two-storey property on Church Lane and remain at the scene with assistance of an additional six appliances from Norfolk.

At the height of the fire over 20 vehicles were in attendance, with seven currently remaining as the incident continues, according to Suffolk Fire's live incidents page.
