Thetford death 'not suspicious'

Police have confirmed they're not treating a man's death as suspicious

Police have confirmed the death of a man in Thetford last Thursday (26 August) is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers were call to Bridge Street at 2.40pm after a member of the public reported seeing a body in the Little Ouse River.

Emergency services attended and rescued the man from the water. He was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where despite best efforts, he later died on Friday morning (27 August).

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
