The Federation of Small Businesses says they are struggling with tax and inflation amongst other things

This is ahead of the Spring budget being announced next week which will see the government unveil its tax and spending plans for the year ahead.

Candy Richards from the FSB told us inflation, VAT and interest rates are some of their main concerns.

They would like to see a "commitment from the Government" to increase the VAT Threshold.

Candy went onto explain how many small businesses are "hovering around the threshold of £80,000" but that an increase of 20,000 to "£100,000 will be a big boost to many small businesses."

She also spoke about the Hospitality sector, and the difficulties they're facing as " consumers are not coming out to eat as much and their margins are really squeezed."

Overall the FSB say that small businesses need "hope" that the economy is going to grow.

They need "confidence and optimism" and a "road map" to help them plan for their futures.
