The Director of Rugby at Ipswich Rugby Club says England has the tools and talent to win but needs to put it together in their game against Fiji
England face the South Pacific side today, at 4 pm- in their World Cup quarter-final game. Their first knock-out game of the tournament, after a 100% record in Pool D
Drew Fautley has over 15 years of experience in the world of rugby, he told us he thinks England has had "some good form" and some "pretty doggy form."
He thinks Steve Borthwich, the head coach of the England National Team, has been trying to "work out combinations" but there are some "superstars in the team."
Potential Issues
Drew told us he believes "connectivity" is one of the things holding back the England team and this showed in their games against Island teams such as the Samoan Islanders.
He told us he wants to see them "put it all together... just simply play well, commit. There is no tomorrow if you don't win today."
Regardless of these, Drew made the point England is going into the quarterfinals with four wins under their belt "Whether they were pretty or not, there's still four wins."
"It's going to be a tasty game"
Despite the worries Drew is excited to watch, he told us it will be a case of "drop everything, close the doors, go to the pub, wherever it is. Watch a game of rugby- those are going to be some very entertaining games."
Going against Fiji
Drew told us Fiji are a "flamboyant" and "very committed" team which will lead to a "frustrating match"
"This match will pretty much feel like it's their Super Bowl or their World Cup."
He also said he is nervous for England as Fiji has proven in the past they can beat England last year when they won in the Autumn series.
"If Fiji play at the top of their game, they can definitely beat England - this England."
