A teenage boy has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Benhall near Saxmundham at the weekend.

A girl - also in her teens - remains in a serious but stable condition at Ipswich Hopsital after the attack.

Doctors think she's suffered life changing injuries.

The victim was found on grass close to the junction of Aldecar Lane and Benhall Green at around 7am on Sunday (October 2).

The 17-year-old suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates' Court later today (October 4).

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
